Hindi Lesson-2 – Consonants in Hindi Alphabet

After the first Hindi lesson, we are now good to start with Hindi lesson-2. There are 36 consonants in Hindi Alphabet written with Roman script in velthuis style of transliteration.

All the Consonants are incomplete. They need the help of vowels and their symbols ( मात्राएँ) to get complete. For example incomplete consonants look like: क्, ख् when we mix up अ vowel with any of the consonant, it becomes complete as क् + अ = क, ख् + अ = ख.
Then with mixing up with the correct symbols ( मात्राएँ) of the vowels, the consonants help pronouncing the correct sounds.
